When COVID-19 became a pandemic, everyone had so many questions about the virus and how to live our lives. The most important questions Stein Hospice addressed were how do we keep ourselves healthy so we can continue to provide excellent comfort care for our patients, and how do we keep our patient’s safe as well? Right from the start, Stein Hospice’s staff have been protecting our patients through additional infection control measures.
Care is provided while wearing personal protective equipment such as nose and mouth covering masks, face shields, hair and clothes coverings, and gloves. Hand sanitizer use and hand washing are incessant activities, as is constant retraining in the proper use of the various equipment. Our staff is tested weekly for active COVID-19 infection, and we do daily check-ins to see how staff are feeling prior to the workday. We even test our patients and families at home to make sure the environment is safe for all. We are proud to be on the cutting edge of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine too!
Stein Hospice is dedicated to supporting our patients, their caregivers and families, and keeping them safe!
