Promoting the best possible quality of life with compassionate end-of-life care.
Stein Hospice offers compassionate, individualized hospice care to patients experiencing a life-limiting illness and support to their families. With a focus on making each day meaningful for the patients we serve, our team of hospice professionals work to relieve pain and suffering and to address the unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each patient and his or her loved ones and caregivers. We serve Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Hunterdon, Mercer and Union Counties in New Jersey.
Stein Hospice opened in 2005 to serve patients in the Jewish tradition. We have found that patients of all faiths appreciate the benefits of a faith-based, non-profit hospice. We are proud that our staff is culturally diverse and we take care of patients who are equally as diverse.
As the first and only non-profit Jewish organization to provide hospice care in central New Jersey, our care is based on traditional spiritual values that:
- affirm the dignity of life;
- call for visiting and caring for the sick (bikur cholim and shituf bi-tza’ar);
- promote respect for those who have passed away (kavod hamet); and
- help to comfort the living (nihum avelim).
We believe that the end of life should be spent in an environment that provides the greatest comfort and sense of emotional well-being. Our professional hospice team and our trained volunteers serve patients wherever they call home — whether it is a house, apartment, another private residence, assisted living facility or a nursing home.
