June 21st is known as the Longest Day, but not only because it is the summer solstice, the day with the most light. “The Longest Day” is also the Alzheimer’s Association’s global call-to-action to join the fight to end Alzheimer’s. On this day, we are called upon to shine a light of hope and fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s.
The Wilf Campus for Senior Living has joined the effort by holding a workshop to train its Stein Assisted Living and Stein Hospice staff as Certified Dementia Practitioners. Today our staff was trained by Sheli Monacchio of Van Dyck Law Group. Sheli is a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer for the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.
The program is part of the Wilf Campus’ ongoing commitment to educate our staff on dementia and Alzheimer’s care. A second workshop is planned in a few weeks to train additional staff.
