“The Impending Crisis in NJ Healthcare: Physician Shortage”
Mayor of East Brunswick
Sunday, April 2, 2023, 7:00 PM
Brad Cohen is a Wilf Campus for Senior Living Board of Trustees member whose grandmother was a resident of Stein Assisted Living in its early years. He was elected Mayor of East Brunswick in November 2016. Cohen began his public career in 2010 when he was elected to the East Brunswick Board of Education. Working with a dedicated group of Board members, he helped navigate the schools through difficult economic times. Cohen was named Board President in 2014. Balancing fiscal responsibilities with massive needs in information technology, strategic planning, and infrastructure, the future Mayor chose to use his skills to improve the quality of life for the residents of East Brunswick. His 2016 campaign focused on property taxes, the abandoned Route 18 commercial corridor, and quality of life issues in the township. Cohen won the 2020 mayoral election, promising to move East Brunswick towards progress “through effective financial policy, balanced with a broad array of services, programs, and opportunities.”
A physician by profession, Cohen received his BS from Muhlenberg College, a medical degree from Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School, followed by an MBA from Rutgers Business School. He lives with his wife, Penny, who is a Dermatologist. They have two children, Rachel and Daniel.
The Alexander Joseph Kaufman Author Series is dedicated by Sherryl and Michael Kaufman in memory of Michael’s younger brother, Alexander.
