The Wilf Campus for Senior Living’s independent senior community at Wilentz Senior Residence is happily returning to many of its regularly scheduled activities! The monthly program calendar is slowly beginning to fill back up, with modifications that keep resident safety at the forefront.
Temperature checks and health assessment forms are completed before entering the room for any community scheduled programs. Having this knowledge at the beginning of each activity helps residents and staff keep a vigilant eye on any possible risks — and provides comfort for all.
Resuming activities include movie nights and the Sip & Save Café — a favorite for residents and staff alike! With one patron permitted at a time, community members can enjoy shopping for fresh baked goods and essential items right in the comfort of their own home. Additionally, Bingo games are held twice per month in the dining room.
The opportunity for conversations on a variety of topics, including emotional and spiritual wellness, are provided during biweekly lectures with Rabbi Bryan Kinzbrunner, Wilf Campus’ Director of Religious and Spiritual Services. Many of our residents have enjoyed these discussions during their time here, and with social distancing and hand hygiene being reinforced, they have been happy to return to the enlightening social program.
The chance to address personal needs such as shopping and grooming is something that residents have been eager to return to. For those without their own form of transportation, the return of community-sponsored trips to the grocery store is impactful. With only four residents permitted on a Wilf Transport bus at once, safe traveling will be much easier to achieve during this time. The on-site beauty salon is also now taking appointments, bringing a refreshing feel back to the community.
Providing comfort for our residents in their home is a number one priority. With the deliberate and measured approach of our staff at the Wilentz Senior Residence, we are pleased to open our community to communal activity once again.
