Wilentz Senior Residence Continues to Provide Safe and Engaging Programs for Residents

wilentz senior residence

Wilentz Senior Residence continues to strategically resume events and programs throughout the building. So far, residents are thoroughly enjoying the return of midday movies and the opportunity to shop and volunteer at the Sip & Save Café. This month, more additions have been applied to the calendar as staff tries to provide a comfortable living environment.

The current pandemic had limited visitation from medical providers that residents were used to seeing in their home. Now, limited providers such as dermatologists and podiatrists will be allowed back into the residence while maintaining screening protocols.

Before each event and visit, temperature checks are implemented, screening questionnaires are completed, and hand sanitization is required. Executive Director, Jennifer Weissman is also hosting socially distant bi-monthly resident meetings. During these meetings, she covers a range of topics, including coronavirus safety reminders and protocols. Having these in-person sessions is a great way to reiterate safe-living strategies and learn of resident concerns.

“We will continue to lend a compassionate hand to the needs of our Seniors while striving to maintain a safe, caring, and supportive living community,” said Jennifer.

Lastly, for recreational purposes, the residence has started socially distant craft sessions for residents to attend. These events offer residents an opportunity for social fulfillment as well as a chance for creative outlet, which is therapeutic for many.

With protocols being reviewed on a continuous basis, the Wilf Campus looks forward to the coming months as Wilentz Senior Residence finds more safe ways to keep its residence engaged, happy and healthy.
