Goodbye 9 to 5! Retirement of Karen Natkow

Stein Assisted Living is both incredibly delighted and saddened to announce the retirement of one of our wonderful directors, Karen Natkow.

Karen began working for the Martin and Edith Stein Residence in the year of 2004. As the Director of Resident Services, she has been responsible for coordinating new admissions and helping residents to solve problems. Now, almost nineteen years later, we at Stein Assisted Living cannot begin to express our appreciation for Karen and for her dedication to the Wilf Campus over the years. A celebratory barbecue and retirement party for Karen was held yesterday afternoon at Stein Assisted Living.

“You’ve seen this organization go through a lot of changes. People changes, leadership changes, and of course, the last three years have just been a whirlwind. Your presence has been incredible to help guide us through that. You brought levity to the table when we needed it!

While we know that you are going to do things that you enjoy during your retirement, we are going to miss you. We thank you so much for what you have done for this campus and for the residents. You have made an impression on all of us and that will not be forgotten.” – Bob Barry, President of the Wilf Campus

The afternoon was filled with good food, music, lots of laughs, and a few shed tears. “What I will miss most about working on the Wilf Campus is the residents, their families, and the staff. Stein has become my second home,” Karen expressed.

Karen’s last day as the Director of Resident Services will be Friday, April 28th. Despite Karen’s retirement, Karen will continue to lead an ongoing monthly women’s group at Stein Assisted Living for residents who would like to attend.
