Resident Spotlight: A Collection of Poems by Jacob Gross

Jacob (Jack) Gross, a current resident of Stein Assisted Living, was born in New Jersey and has lived here his entire life. He studied history at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

Jack and his two brothers served in the United States Army during World War II. His brother, Joe, was in the airforce, completed fifty missions over Europe, was awarded the Air Medal, and was promoted to Captain. Their brother, Ernest, served with distinction in North Africa and Italy. Jack, while serving in France was wounded, awarded the Purple Heart, and then to his surprise, was also awarded the Bronze Star.

Jack’s interest in poetry was honed by attending Rutgers adult education, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI-RU). There, he attended lectures by the poet, Maxine Susman. Jack has also been published in several editions of the New Author’s Journal by Mario V. Farina, available for purchase on Amazon.

Attached below are several poems written by Jack within the last few years.
