Celebrating the Jewish New Year on Campus

Dear Friends,

a message from our president

On the eve of September 25th, just as Jewish families across the world will sit down to the erev Rosh Hashanah festive meal, so will our residents at Stein Assisted Living. This holiday, our residents will be served traditional holiday foods including homemade matzah ball soup, gefilte fish heaped with horseradish, and a main course of brisket and potatoes. Dinner will be followed by a sweet honey cake and apple slices; all to be enjoyed alongside their adopted family here at Stein Assisted Living. It is important to our core values that we honor Jewish tradition and give those in our care the opportunity to celebrate together. The next day, residents will be invited to hear our community rabbi blow the shofar at outdoor services held in the campus courtyard, just steps from the residence. We strive to make Stein Assisted Living feel like home, and services like Jewish programming, are made possible thanks to the generosity of donors and supporters like you.

Stein Assisted Living is a part of the Wilf Campus for Senior Living, which includes a wide range of services available to the elderly in our community. From transportation services, to home care, to end-of-life care, the team at the Wilf Campus is available to care for the full spectrum of needs of our seniors, wherever they are in their journey.

High Holidays Services, 2021

I’m particularly proud to share that we have recently expanded our Memory Care program, which now offers a Transitional Care Neighborhood for individuals who are exhibiting mild or early signs of memory loss or dementia but are not yet ready to move into a full Memory Care program. This neighborhood focuses on the Eden Philosophy, a nonpharmacological approach to care that includes music therapy and sundowning to alleviate symptoms. Details down to the paint color on the walls have been thoughtfully selected in order to create a soothing atmosphere for our residents.

As we plan for the year ahead, we are always seeking new ways to improve the experience of those in our care. To make our campus feel even more like a home, we will be building an outdoor area with a gazebo with benches for our residents and guests to enjoy. Along the walkways, we will be installing brick pavers that are available to be engraved with your loved one’s name; an opportunity to honor or memorialize them this holiday season while making a difference. More information can be found by clicking here.

I wish everyone who celebrates a Shana Tova and a sweet new year,

Robert Barry
President, Wilf Campus for Senior Living
